A trend that was super "in" during the summer: high-waist shorts.
Everywhere you look, you'll see girls left and right rocking them.
These shorts are super comfortable!
They're stretchy so they take on my shape really nicely.
I am obsessed with distressed jeans so I really like the torn-apart vibe of these shorts.
When it comes to denim, I prefer darker shades over light wash. I just feel like it goes with other clothes way better.
You can see all aspects of the shorts in the photos above.
It has a diamond encrusted button.
The distressed fabric in front of the shorts is also accompanied by a cluster of silver chains which add a grunge-like look.
The hem also has a bit of fringes while the back pocket is also distressed.
The whole shorts is just DISTRESSED all around!
However, just because summer ended, doesn't mean that we can't rock these shorts anymore right?
Here are 3 different ways to transition the ubiquitous Summer high-waist shorts to the Fall season:
Outfit #1: Boho Chic
Since the weather is still warm, I can get away with wearing shorts.
I made sure to put on a thick knitted cardigan from Forever 21 over my outfit, so I won't get cold just in case the weather suddenly becomes chilly.
I paired it with a plain black tank since there is a lot going on with my cover up.
For accessories, I wore a feather necklace that I put together (using a gold chain and feather earrings) and a pair of brown and white bangles.
I also wore my trusty brown gladiator sandals that I got from Target for a comfortable, relaxed look.
Outfit #2: Denim on Denim
Bringing back the Denim on Denim trend.
In the 2001 American Music Awards, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake rocked the Denim on Denim look. And to be honest, it was quite scary. They went all out denim from head to toe!!! Now that's just way too much.
I put together a more toned down look.
I wore my chambray shirt from Old Navy with the shorts.
I played up the look with colorful accessories: blue choker necklace, bright pink watch, and blue and gold bracelets.
For my shoes, I wore my gold strappy sandals. (As you can tell, I'm a big sandals fan!)
Outfit #3: Knee-High
I'm normally the type of girl who doesn't like to pair short shorts with boots. But surprisingly, I really liked how this look turned out.
I paired a plain nude top with the high-waist shorts. I wore my lavender Zara blazer over it and added a red wine scarf for a pop of color. Red wine is one of Fall 2012's colors, so I wanted to incorporate that in.
Now for the main part, I wore my knee-high brown leather boots from Go Jane with thigh-high black nylon socks to keep me warm during those chilly days.
Will you still be rocking your high-waist shorts this Fall?
