LOVE IT: The 84th Annual Academy Awards Red Carpet

The BIGGEST awards show is here...

WHAT: The 84th Annual Academy Awards
WHEN: Sunday, February 26, 2012
WHERE: Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood

This year's Oscars is bigger and better.
Meryl Streep took home the Best Actress award for the movie, Iron Lady, while Jean Dujardin of The Artist owned the Best Actor trophy at the end of the night.
The Artist was awarded Best Picture.

The Oscars is the biggest and most anticipated night for all celebs.
This awards show features the most elegant dresses by many different high end designers.
That's why I was kind of disappointed with this year's red carpet fashion.
The gowns weren't as glamorous as I expected.

Let's take a look...

Photobucket

Ellie Kramer, in Armani Prive.

Photobucket

Busy Philipps

Photobucket

Kate Mara, in Jack Guisso Couture.

Photobucket

Lea Thompson

Photobucket

Nancy O'Dell

Photobucket

Shailene Woodley, in Valentino Couture.
I think this dress makes her look old. She should have gone for a more fun and lively dress.

Photobucket

Kristen Wiig, in J. Mendel.

Photobucket

Giuliana Rancic, in Tony Ward Couture.

Photobucket

Louise Roe, in Black Halo design.

Photobucket

Missi Pyle, in an eco-friendly gown.

Photobucket

Milla Jovovich, in Elie Saab.

Photobucket

Rooney Mara, in Givenchy.

Photobucket

Gwyneth Paltrow, in Tom Ford.
I think the cape makes the look totally unique. She makes it work.

Photobucket

Jennifer Lopez, in Zuhair Murad.

Photobucket

Michelle Williams, in Louis Vuitton.

Photobucket

Penelope Cruz, in Giorgio Armani.

Photobucket

Meryl Streep, in Lanvin.
She finally won her third Academy Award after 17 nominations! WOW.
She deserves it.

Photobucket

Sandra Bullock, in Marchesa.
She looks beautiful as always. I just wish it was a little bit tighter in the upper part of the dress.
She looks like she's wearing a t-shirt.

Photobucket

Angelina Jolie, in Atelier Versace.
She's sexy! Look at that leg. LOL.

Photobucket

Emma Stone, in Giambattista Valli.
This is my 2nd favorite red carpet look.
She looks soooo good in that fuchsia Giambattista Valli gown.
It's very conservative and sophisticated.
LOVE the huge bow!

My favorite look of the night was...

Photobucket

Maria Menounos!

Photobucket

She walked the red carpet in an exquisite mint green "cut out" dress.
The color looks beautiful with her skin tone. I love the way it just seems to flow.
It falls down very beautifully with her figure.

Photobucket

Photobucket

She kept her jewelry simple with a single band silver diamond bracelet and a cocktail ring.

Photobucket

She wore minimal makeup with semi-smokey eyes, dark black mascara, light pink coral-y blush, and nude lips.
Her updo consisted of a loose chignon and she wore chandelier earrings to spice up the look.

Trendy Tuesday: Blazers/Coats

One thing I have been obsessing over are blazers. BLAZERS BLAZERS BLAZERS!
So far, I have over 5 blazers in my wardrobe. And I need it to multiply pronto. Haha.

Photobucket

I just love wearing them. You can dress it up or dress it down.
They go with so many things.
It's crazy how many times you can put together different outfits using the same blazer.

Photobucket

I got this knitted blazer at Forever 21 last year.
I can't really remember how much it was but I'm guessing around $20-$30.
I looooove this blazer. Not only does it dress up an outfit but it also keeps you warm.
I like how the colors are neutral so it can match with a lot of things.
The 4 pairs of buttons is my favorite part about this blazer.
I think that it gives it a more sophisticated look.

Photobucket

My mom got me this when she went out of the country.
I haven't gotten the chance to wear it so it's quite new.
This blazer is also knitted like the Forever 21 one so I'm sure that it will keep my warm as well.
It's cropped so I would have to wear something thick under it.
This one also has the pair button style.

Photobucket

I have it in 2 colors: dark gray and light brown.
I love how the gray one has bits of shimmer all down it.
It's perfect for a night out!
My mom actually wore this one that's why it's missing one button. :(

Photobucket

This one was the very first blazer I've ever owned.
I found it in my mom's box in the garage.
She wasn't using it, so I just took it. Haha.
I think of it as a vintage piece. It's from United Colors of Benetton.
The color reminds me of the old days. I think that's why I love it so much.

Photobucket

This Zara blazer is my newest addition to my collection.
I loooooove the lavender color. The length is a bit longer than my other ones which is perfect for leggings.
I always feel uncomfortable when my butt is exposed in leggings so this is a perfect way to cover it up.
Zara blazers tend to be a bit expensive, so I'll be sure to take care of this particular one. :D

Photobucket

I usually go for a casual outfit when I'm in school: a loose t-shirt, dark skinny jeans, TOMS, and my blazer.
Of course, I accessorize to the max: layered necklaces, chunky bangels, and cocktail rings.

I would so love to get more in bright colors: coral, pink, yellow, blue, red, white, green... Ah, I could go on and on and on...

What does your favorite blazer look like? How would you dress them up?

Dream House: Walk-In Closet

Ever since I was a little girl, I always enjoyed going house hunting.
It's so much fun to look at model homes and picturing what my future dream house would look like.

I picture my dream house to be more of a Tuscan style villa.
I really love Spanish-structured homes. I think they're soooo beautiful especially when they have those arched walk ways and terraces.

When I buy my future house, one thing I absolutely want is a huge walk-in closet.
I want to be able to display all of my clothes, purses, accessories, and especially shoes.

I love all of these closet layouts. They're so beautiful and I'm literally drooling over them.
The last one is my favorite one though. It's very bright and I love how you can see everything. I also like the mini sitting area in the middle.

Do you have a walk-in closet? How did you set it up?

I love fashion! I love clothes! I really like vintage clothes, so in my closet there's a lot of '50s stuff. I go to the stores and shop around.

My FAVORITE look of the night was...

Photobucket

Taylor Swift!

Photobucket

I think she was the one who truly sparkled in the red carpet, LITERALLY!
Her nude silk Zuhair Murad mermaid gown is absolutely beautiful.
Sure, the color is a bit boring and it's similar to what she always wears to award shows, but I LOVE the style!
The heart-shape sheer cut-out in her chest adds so much edgyness to the look.

Photobucket

And just look at the back of this gown! SO SEXY!
It hugs her body in all the right places.
The sequined detailing makes her sparkle and glitter all the way down the red carpet.

Photobucket

She wore minimal makeup. Nude-pink lips. Light golden eye shadow with dark winged eyeliner. Light pink blush.

She kept her hair really simple with a bun that looks effortless and chic.
Can I just say how glad I am that she stepped away from her traditional bouncy curls?!

I give this look an 8.5!
