Hairstyle Watch: Medium Length Bob

I had a bob the summer before my freshman year in high school.
I've always had long thick dark brown hair.
I wanted a change so I decided to cut my hair really short.
My sister also convinced me to dye it a lighter color, so I did.

Now, I am back to my really long wavy dark brown hair.
I'm about to enter my senior year in 2 weeks. So I'm kind of wanting another change. I bought my hair dye yesterday and it is in color Medium Brown. Not too light but not too dark. JUST RIGHT!

Lately, I've been liking the medium length bob haircut celebrities are sporting. It's really cute especially when it's curled. And it's really hot, so perfect timing, right?

Hayden Panettiere

I saw her hair in a Neutrogena commercial and I really really really like it!

Photobucket

Heidi Klum

She's just absolutely gorgeous. :D

Photobucket

Jennifer Aniston

My sister likes her haircut.
So I think she's gonna go for this look.

Photobucket

Jessica Alba

I like hers so much! It's not too short.
And I love how it looks when it's semi-curled.

This one is my fave!

Photobucket

Lauren Conrad

I think it looks good on her.
But she didn't really stick with this look.
I guess she had some extensions put on. But I like it.

Photobucket

Mandy Moore

Enough said! She's beautiful. :]

Photobucket

Nicole Richie

I think she rocks the BOB look the BEST!

Photobucket

Rachel McAdams

She looks good as a blonde and as a brunette! Wow.

Photobucket

Selena Gomez

She looks good with short hair. Especially because she has really thick locks!
I like hers too.

I've always wanted mermaid length hair. And now that I have it, I want to chop it off. I guess it's because I'm getting bored with it and I want to do something a little bit different.

I'm still not sure if I'm going to cut it this short. BUT I REALLY REALLY WANT TO! It's just that I have my senior portrait, senior dances, and of course, prom. Hmmm...would short hair look bad?

Have you ever gotten a bob?!

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries or the way she combs her hair.

  1. I am no stranger to the bob haircut, I am comfortable with having long and short hair - so it doesn't really matter what length I go for.:D

    I've had Nicole Richie's haircut quite a few times and the pixie cut like Emma Watson's when I was in 9th grade. I think you should go for it as long as you are fine with restricted hairstyles come prom and graduation. Once you go for a bob, it takes a year before you get your mermaid hair back.

    For someone with thick hair like you, I'd go for Rachel's - it has flow, volume and it frames her face really well. :D

    Happy August!:D

  2. @Marie: Oh really? Wow, that's so cool. I really really want to cut it. I don't mind having short hair for school dances. And i'm pretty sure it'll be a bit longer by the time prom comes. *sigh*

  5. So I'm trying to grow my (short) hair out, and these photos are reminding me why I want to do that! So I guess I have the opposite problem--I have to grow mine to get there! But you should go for it--haircuts can be so liberating sometimes!

  6. @Shea: Aww! That's probably how I'm going to feel once I chop my hair off. :D Don't worry, you'll get there!

  7. that picture of Lauren Conrad on the left was actually my inspiration for cutting my hair short, i had really long hair b4, once i cut it off, i felt so liberated!!! i do miss my long hair from time to time but i don't regret chopping off my long locks!

  8. Totally agree the Nicole Richie rocks the bob the best! I had a graduated bob for a year and lovvved it. I only grew my hair out to have more options for my wedding.

    You should go for it! I bet it'll grow back quicker than you think :)

    ps-- love your site!

  10. i had been wearing short hair like almost all my life! Once i had a wavy bob like Jessica Alba's and Nicole Richie's for around a year or so which i liked a lot. It made my face look a lil wider though so when my hair returned to straight again I just grew it long and now I'm planning to ombre-dye it!

    If your hair grows fast (unlike mine), i think it would be just fine if you get it cut short now. It wouldn't look too short anymore by the time you have your senior potrait! ;)

  11. @Joanna: My hair does grow at a pretty fast pace. Thank you for sharing that! It's giving me real confidence. :D

  12. Yup! I had a bob about 3 years ago, it was cut like Victoria Beckham's hair! I really liked it and it showed off my thick hair extremely well and it angled nicely in back! I just realized I don't think we're following each other so I fixed that issue ASAP!

  13. If I was brave enough to cut my long locks.. I think I would definitely go with one of these looks. But I'm much too afraid!

  16. Ooo :D I love Selena Gomez and Rachel McAdams bobs, they would look so sweet on a person. I prefer long hair because my hair would go poof! by midday if it was short and I don't really like to maintain short hair but I did cut it into a bob a few years back and I liked it :D right now I am looking for a shorter look but not this short. Altho I really like Selena's length :D I have this unruly wavy and stubborn hair...I don't know what to do with. LOL

  17. I think long bobs are so chic and make you look very sophisticated and elegant :) Nicole Richie's bob is my favourite too it's just absolutely gorgeous :) plus dont forget you can always buy some clip in extensions for not too much money if you want to switch it up a bit during the year and a cut is always very healthy and helpful to hair :)

  18. I get a bob every few years, last time was to years ago when I donated my hair. But after a while I always miss you long hair and let it grow out again. Right now its long, acutally it just started to "feel" long again, if you know what I mean, And I love it!!!

    @A.B.P: I love curling my hair! You have to go try it.

    @Mimi: glad you liked this post!

    @A!ko: I like Rachel's too. I think I'm gonna go for that one! :D

    @Sarah: So true! I own hair extensions but its synthetic so I can't really do much. I'm definitely gonna look for real hair ones.

    @Blue: I want to donate mine to Locks of Love if I do end up cutting it. :D

    @TheNyanzi: :D

    @Rebecca: Thanks.

    @Michelle&Samantha: Thank you!

  23. i agree the bob with the curly hair looks cute and gorgeous.. but i had this and it was high maintenace.. i find that short hair is higher maintenance than longer hair. so if you have the patience.. totally do it!

  24. @AboutLastWeekend: I know right!

    @MsRinz: Thanks.

    @Donna: I love the look. Really? I find long hair really high maintenance. Just because you grow split ends realy easily with long hair.
