"High School was the best 4 years of my life."
At least that's what most people would say.
I definitely enjoyed my high school experience.
Yes, it started off a bit rocky (freshman year was my very first time attending a public school), but I met a lot of new friends and everything eventually fell into place as the time progressed and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
One thing I noticed among high school students is the way each and every one of them expresses themselves through fashion.
I, myself, LOVED to dress up when I was in high school. (Well, I still do.)
I would always plan out my outfit the night before to save me some time in the morning.
It was pretty interesting to see unique styles and various fashion "cliques" among the student body.
Let's see which one we belonged to...
THE TRENDSETTERS
You style sisters rock the hallway like a runway in unique looks that mix classic basics with designer finds.
THE ART KIDS
Your outfit is your canvas: Fill it with unexpected colors, eye-catching prints, and quirky details.
THE JOCKS
Fashion is in your court this year, sporty girl. Athletic fabrics and neon colors are super-hot, and so are you!
THE DRAMAS
You belong in the spotlight. Take the stage in bold looks that prove you're a style star.
In terms of fashion, I think I would've been in the TRENDSETTERS group with a little bit of the ART KIDS. (Although, I am in no way artistic.)
Mix them both together and that's how I dressed as a high schooler.
Everyone always told me that I dress so colorful. I always took that as a compliment because I definitely didn't want to be known as the dull one. Haha.

My high school didn't really have the stereotypical "cliques" like what they have in movies.
Everyone pretty much hung out with everyone.
You'll see a baseball player hanging out with a science geek or a cheerleader hanging out with the "Asians."
Yes, there were people who had more friends than the others and there was definitely the occasional snobby girl, but it was never like a Regina George type of thing.
Do those kind of cliques even really exist?

Which fashion clique would you have belonged to? Did your high school have the populars, the jocks, the geeks, etc?

We didn't get to chose our outfits, we had to wear a uniform. But If I did fall into one of those it would probably be the Jocks category - Lol. I was no way a trendy kid in high school. x
ReplyDeleteOh I totally get you on those uniforms. I actually really liked wearing uniforms. I didn't have to think about what to wear every night. It was definitely hassle-free. Haha.
Deleteamazing post, lurv it. pictures are great fun too.
ReplyDeletehow about we follow one another?

Thanks for stopping by!
Deletei had to wear uniforms in high school, but i definitely always dress up for college! which gets kinda awkward sometimes as most people are in sweats. haha
ReplyDeleteI feel ya! But hey, we always want to look nice and presentable right?
DeleteI was more like the Art Kids, punk or hippy style, couldn't stand brands and wouldn't leave home without my Doctor Martens ahaha Then I grew up ;)

I really want a pair of Doc Martens!!!
DeleteThink I would have been in the art kids maybe, although I never had that I'm too cool thing going! Lol

They do have a few cute pieces going on. :D
DeleteI loved college more than high school!
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people would agree with that. There's just more freedom and of course, a lot of fun events. :D
DeleteMaybe the Trendsetters!!
ReplyDeleteWANNA COME WITH ME TO NEW YORK FASHION WEEK?? CLICK HERE, VOTE ME AND JOIN ME!!
Was there a "one step behind whatever was in fashion?" Because that would have definitely been me, haha.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. Haha. :D
DeleteI followed my own nose, but it might have been something between Art Kids and Drama.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to be yourself. :D
Deletethis is a cool post! we didn't really have major cliques either, just the normal group of friends. :) and i don't really know which fashion group i belonged to in high school -- i went to an all-girls catholic school and we wore uniforms all the time. i do love accessorizing my uniforms though, haha! ;)

ReplyDeleteThat means so much. Thank you. :]
DeleteNice Post! I think I'm a mix of drama style and trendsetter :D
ReplyDeleteHonestly, for me, I think it would depend on the day of the week; but, overall...The Trendsetters. :D
ReplyDeleteI totally get it. It definitely depends on the daily mood.
Deletei was the "gotta-fit-in" so, maybe trendsetter?
ReplyDeleteAwh, really? Nothing wrong with that but of course, it's also good to be yourself. :D
DeleteI combined all of them (still do). Had to smile at the part about planning the night before. I used to plan mu clothes and then wake up 2 hours early to make sure my hair and makeup were perfect. Those were the days! :)
ReplyDeleteI totally get you! Although I actually didn't wear that much makeup in high school -- just concealer, eyeliner (upper lash line), and mascara. I spent more time on the clothes. LOL.
DeleteI think right now I would be kinda in the drama group but in high school I mostly wore t-shirts & jeans and sometimes some vintage stuff. Cool post!
ReplyDeleteahh highschool. so far away! i guess definitely the trendsetter though! fun editorial

Thank you so much!
DeleteI would place myself between the first and second group aswell.
ReplyDeleteAlthough i dont really believe in real cliques in that way... it would be terrible. Mixing is always good :)
Much Love,

I totally agree! I really don't think those exist. But my sisters think so.
Deleteabsolutely amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThese types of cliques didn't exist at my school, I think everyone was quite cool and everyone would hang out with everyone else.
ReplyDeleteSame here!
DeleteI know I was definitely not part of the jocks, lol :D

Oh me either. I was in no athletic whatsoever. Although, I really wish I was.
DeleteReading this makes me miss school in general :D when i did school in WI there was somewhat of a 'clique' but never in a mean girls kinda way but everyone was somewhat friends with everyone. When i was in HS we had our own clique but we never bullied anyone or anything but we were still nice to other people but i know they existed but i am glad i never got to experience it :D I saw i was pretty dull, never the jocks or fashion type...probably artistic and weird lol or just plain weird maybe...

ReplyDeleteWell, in primary school we actuavy did have actual cliques and back then I think the fashion clique I was in was a mix of tomboy, girly and artistic. Now I'm in yr 8 so we have uniforms but I think I would be a mix of artistic and trendsetter with a dash of smartn I adore trilby hats.
ReplyDeleteAnd by actual cliques I mean not just d fashion ones but real life ones as well. There were d naughty popular kids, the goody goody kids, the jokers and the weirdos. I hung out with d female populars, some jokers & majority of weirdos but I fell under d category of goody goody.
